Frequently asked questions
Plain answers. If yours is not here, write to hello@lundbo.com.
What is Lundbo?
Lundbo is a small family story studio in San Clemente, California. We make original children's series for ages 0 to 8, set in a place called Sandpiper Point. Lundbo is a studio of Lundquist Inc.
Who makes the stories?
Sara Lundquist writes the stories. Blake Lundquist creates the characters and the art. The two of them review every page.
What ages are the stories for?
Ages 0 to 8, in five series. Otter & Moon is for babies and toddlers, Tully Tidepool for ages 2 to 4, The Quillers and Pop's Workshop for ages 4 to 7, and Stilts & Snip for ages 5 to 8. Each story page says who it is made for and why.
Are the stories free to read online?
Yes. Read-alongs, videos, audio and printables are free, with no account and no email needed.
When will the books arrive?
The first ten books are on their way, two for each series. Leave your email on the newsletter page and we will write once when they are ready.
What do you collect about my child?
Nothing. The story player has no accounts, no ads, no cookies and no third-party tools. It keeps only anonymous totals, like how many times a story was finished today. Favourites and where you left off are saved on your own device.
Do you use AI?
Sara writes our stories and Blake creates our characters. Like most studios today, we use digital tools, including AI, to help with things like colour, voices and translation, and every page is reviewed by us before it reaches you.
Which languages are the stories in?
We are building the site and every story in 41 languages. Each language goes live only after it has been reviewed, so some pages are English for now.
Can I print the free materials?
Yes, for your family, your classroom or your library. Please do not sell them or put them behind a paywall.
Can I buy the books?
Checkout is not open yet. Each book page will show its formats, and you can ask us to tell you when they are ready.
Can I ask for a story?
Yes. The request page lets you ask for a story about something your family is going through, or vote for a character you would like to see more of.
Where do the stories come from?
From real family moments that a small child is working through, like a new baby, a first day or the wait for the glue to dry. Sara writes the stories to be read aloud, and Blake creates the characters. The page on how we make our books tells the whole story.
Are the animal facts real?
Yes. Sandpiper Point is made up, but the facts about real animals and plants come from cited sources, listed on the Real Sandpiper Point pages. Where a story does something real animals do not, the back of the book says so. For example, in California real porcupines have lived in mountain and plateau country, not by the sea.
How much screen time is right for my child?
That is a decision for your family and your pediatrician. Our screen time guide sums up what the American Academy of Pediatrics and the World Health Organization say, and how we make our videos calm and easy to stop. We do not claim that watching a video teaches a child anything.
Are the guides medical advice?
No. They are general information with sources listed at the end, and they do not diagnose anything. If you are worried about your child, talk to your pediatrician.
Can I use Lundbo in a classroom or library?
Yes. Everything we publish for free is free for personal and classroom use, including in libraries. It is not for resale. The teachers page has a storytime plan, and the printables licence has the plain terms.
Do you have baby signs?
They are coming. Signs on the English site are American Sign Language, and we add a sign only after we have checked it, so the sign glossary is not ready yet.
Why are some pages only in English?
We check every language line by line before it goes live. The long guides take longer, so they are English for now and other languages link to them.
How do I get in touch?
Write to hello@lundbo.com. It is the only address we use.
