The short version
The story player collects nothing about your child. Our pages for grown-ups use a few standard tools to see which pages are useful. If you give us your email, we use it only for what you asked, and we delete it when you ask.
The story player
Story pages are made for children, so they are built to know nothing about who is reading.
- No accounts or sign-ins
- No ads
- No cookies
- No third-party trackers or analytics tools
- No IDs that follow a device from visit to visit
- No IP addresses stored
The player only adds to anonymous daily totals, such as “a story was started” or “page 6 was reached.” These totals can’t be traced back to any person or device. It also remembers the story you’re reading on your device so it opens quickly next time; that copy stays on your device.
Pages for grown-ups
Our other pages may use these tools to understand which pages are helpful:
- Google Analytics, which loads only after you first tap, click or scroll, and sets cookies to count visits.
- Microsoft Clarity, which loads only after you first interact and shows us, in aggregate, how pages are used.
- Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights, which count visits and page speed without cookies.
- A speed check that sends page-load timings, with no personal details.
None of these tools run on story pages.
Forms
Our sign-up and request forms are for grown-ups. If you sign up, we store your email, your language, and the day you signed up. We send a quick confirmation, then one email when the first stories are ready. If you send a request, we store what you wrote and, if you gave it, your email. We never sell or share them. To prevent spam we count form sends using a scrambled code that changes daily; we don’t store IP addresses.
Children
We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you think a child has sent us their details, write to us and we will delete them.
Children's privacy
Lundbo is a studio of Lundquist Inc.. The read-along, watch and listen pages and the colouring page are made for children to use with a grown-up nearby. They do not ask for, collect or store any personal information from a child, and they have no accounts, no ads, no cookies and no third-party tools.
We follow the Children's Online Privacy Protection Rule (COPPA) of the United States. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Our forms are for grown-ups only, and we ask newsletter subscribers to confirm they are 18 or older.
If you believe a child has sent us personal information, write to hello@lundbo.com and we will delete it. A parent can also ask what we hold or ask us to delete it at any time.
- We do not share children's information with anyone, because we do not collect it.
- We do not build profiles of children, and we do not use children's information for advertising.
- Favourites and where a child left off in a story are saved on the device only and never sent to us.
- "Read it in your voice" recordings stay on the device. Nothing is uploaded.
How long we keep information
We keep information only as long as we need it for the reason you gave it to us, and then we delete it.
- Newsletter sign-up (email address, language, sign-up date): kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it.
- Story requests and ideas (what you wrote, and your email if you gave one): kept only as long as we need them to consider the request, and deleted when you ask.
- Anonymous story totals (for example, how many stories were finished today): counts only, with no personal information, kept as totals.
- Spam protection on forms: a scrambled daily code, not an IP address, and these entries are removed after about two days.
- Website analytics on grown-up pages: kept by the analytics providers listed above, under their settings.
- Anything else you send to hello@lundbo.com: kept as long as the conversation needs, then deleted.
How we protect information
We keep a written information security program, appropriate to a small studio and to how little we collect. Lundquist Inc. is responsible for it, and you can reach us about it at hello@lundbo.com.
- We collect as little as we can, which is the strongest safeguard we have.
- The studio tools that hold our content and sign-ups are behind a sign-in that only the studio team can pass, and our code is reviewed for security problems before and after changes.
- Information is sent over encrypted connections, and secrets such as keys are kept out of our code.
- We use a small number of service providers to host the site and the story service. We choose them for their security practices and limit what they can see.
- We review this program at least once a year and whenever something about our service changes.
- If we ever learn of a problem that affects your information, we will tell you as the law requires.
Seeing or deleting your information
Write to hello@lundbo.com from the address you signed up with, and we will send you what we have or delete it, usually within a week.
Where information is kept
Our site runs on Vercel, and our story service runs on Cloudflare, both in the United States.
Changes
If we change these notes, we’ll update the date at the top. We will never start collecting information about children.
